Tripura Foundation

For nearly 20 years, Tripura Foundation has been committed to abolishing extreme poverty. The programs that Tripura Foundation has established seek to eradicate hunger, educate children, and empower women & girls, ending the cycle of extreme poverty once and for all.

Tripura Foundation was founded in 1989 and is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. The founder of the organization, Dr.Baskaran Pillai, felt the need to create a service organization that would alleviate the suffering of people living in abject poverty; those who experience the most severe forms of limitation.

The Tripura Foundation has worked tirelessly on issues affecting the Global community, under the visionary direction of Dr. Pillai. In conjunction with various service organizations, Tripura has built homes in the slums of the Philippines for the poorest of the poor… many whom have never known anymore than a 6′ x 6′ shack for a family of 4.  In India, again in partnership with another leading service organization, Tripura has established exemplary centers of education for children… whom would most assuredly have had no opportunity for any education.

End the Cycle of Poverty

To help improve the quality of life for the poverty stricken, Tripura has developed a three-pronged approach to service:

* First… recognize the need to provide people with basic necessities such as food, clothing and shelter.

* Then… provide education to nurture their awareness, creativity and capability to create a brighter future for themselves.

* Finally… provide income opportunities to improve their standard of living. In this way, we can help people to exit the vicious cycle of poverty that has ensnared their lives

.

Tripura Foundation’s work is made possible by the generosity of donors, foundations, volunteers and friends – all joined together in the spirit of selfless service. Please support Tripura Foundation through a generous (tax-deductible) donation. THANK YOU!
